FORT GORDON, Ga. -- The Eisenhower Army Medical Center hosted a change of responsibility for the outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Ricky Dean and welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Raymond Price, III on June 25, 2014, at Barton Field, Fort Gordon, Ga.

Guests included Maj. Gen. Lawarren V. Patterson, Commanding General of the Army's Cyber Center of Excellence, and his wife, Jule; Nelson Keeler, Deputy to the Commanding General of the Army's Cyber Center of Excellence; Col. Samuel Anderson, Fort Gordon Garrison Commander, and his wife, Jana; Command Sgt. Maj. Jayme Johnson, representing the Southern Regional Medical Command; Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald Pflieger, Command Sergeant Major for the Cyber Center of Excellence, and his wife, Lori; Command Sgt. Maj. Kenneth Stockton, Fort Gordon Garrison Command Sergeant Major; Nancy Bobbitt, senior field representative for U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson; and Command Sgt. Maj. (Retired) Jim Hussey, field representative for U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss.

Command Sgt. Maj Ricky Dean served at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center beginning in 2010, as the Troop Command Sergeant Major and then as the Command Sergeant Major for EAMC.

During his career, Dean deployed in support of Operation Able Sentry, in Macedonia, and for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Dean plans to relocate to El Paso, Texas, after he and his spouse, Sgt. Maj. Sharon Dean retire this year.

The incoming, Command Sgt. Maj. Raymond Price, III will serve as the enlisted advisor to the EAMC Commanding Officer Col. John P. Lamoureux and will ensure the Soldiers at EAMC meet the Army standards while maintaining the morale and welfare of all military personnel serving under him.

"I accept the responsibility of what will be a rewarding part of my career. My family and I are excited to come to Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Our Eisenhower experience began four years ago when the medical center took care of my family while I was stationed in Korea." said Price.

"With my family over 6,000 miles away, my heart was at peace because my wife gave such rave reviews of the professional and courteous staff. It is truly an honor to be the Command Sergeant Major of Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

The ceremony at Barton Field included the ceremonial passing of the NCO saber to illustrate the passing of responsibility and leadership to the incoming Command Sergeant Major.

Prior to his appointment at EAMC, Price served as the Command Sergeant Major for Bassett Army Community Hospital and MEDDAC-ALASKA. He joined the Army in 1986 and has served in different leadership roles within the medical field including the Senior Clinical NCO for Ireland Army Community Hospital, Command Sergeant Major for the Fort Knox Warrior Transition Battalion, and the Command Sergeant Major for the only dual mission hospital, the 121st Combat Support Hospital and Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital in Seoul Korea.

Price is also a graduate from the Sergeants Major Academy, Class number 58, at Fort Bliss, Texas.
