Maj. Gen. John Wharton, commanding general of Army Sustainment Command and Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., and Lt. Gen. Masahiro Hidaka, Commanding General of Central Readiness Forces, Japan Ground Self-Defense Forces, discuss bilateral relations at the JSDF Headquarters, located on Camp Zama, Japan, April 16. Wharton and other senior leaders spent 10 days in the U.S. Army Pacific Command area of responsibility to engage U.S. senior military leaders in support of the establishment of the ASC/USARPAC Integration Cell with its ability to integrate and synchronize ASC capabilities, demonstrate the Sustainment Enterprise ability to support Joint Forces, reinforce to combatant commanders that ASC remains responsive to them, discuss the pending move of the 402nd Army Field Support Brigade from Kuwait to Hawaii, and meet with senior military leaders from South Korea and Japan to foster ASC's international relationships.
