CAMP ZAMA, Japan (May 13, 2014) -- According to NBC 4 in Washington, 20 percent of Soldiers and six percent of Airmen ride motorcycles.

The Department of Defense states motorcycle deaths among military members are expected to rise 20 percent in 2014. As a partner in readiness, the Pacific Region Army & Air Force Exchange Service is committed to providing a wide selection of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which could make the difference between life and death when riding on two wheels.

"Having the right safety equipment is one of the most important things a biker can do," said the Camp Zama Exchange's General Manager, Daniel Enderle.

"From Department of Transportation-approved helmets and gloves to vests and jackets, the Camp Zama Exchange (Clothing and Sales) has all the latest gear designed to increase visibility and help protect riders."

The Camp Zama Exchange PPE includes the latest motorcycle gear and an assortment of reflective products designed to increase survival and prevent injuries. Riders can browse the Exchange's PPE selection in store or online at www.shopmyexchange.com.

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is a joint command and is directed by a Board of Directors which is responsible to the Secretaries of the Army and the Air Force through the Service Chiefs of Staff.

The Exchange has the dual mission of providing authorized patrons with articles of merchandise and services and generating non-appropriated fund earnings as a supplemental source of funding for military Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) programs.
