Radio communication with Kyle White Transcript

1st Sgt. William L. Stockard: I had two squad leaders on the ground and I tried to reach them too, but I couldn't get a hold of them as well, because they were on the low ground, and Sgt. White was a little bit up on higher ground, so I had to rely on Sgt. White to communicate. I had to relay all the information through him.

He had to talk to basically every aircraft that checked on station, just to give them their location because the squad leaders got their compasses got shot, so they couldn't even give me, they could give me like a general direction, like east, but I needed a definite, more refined direction. So he is talking to all the Medevacs and sending all the reports back to me of the all the injured, the KIA, and exactly where the other patrol was because that patrol was actually split probably about 50 meters…. He was my eyes and ears that day.
