Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) and Pacific Regional Medical Command (PRMC) leaders congratulated ten TAMC medical personnel who completed the 25th Infantry Division Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB) course during a graduation ceremony at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii on April 11, 2014.
The EFMB course mirrors what medics are required to do in the contemporary operational environment such as tactical combat casualty care, medical and casualty evacuation, communications, warrior skills, land navigation and also included a written test and a twelve-mile foot march. The course began with 245 servicemembers and ended with 60 remaining on graduation day.
"The Expert Field Medical Badge is the mark of a true professional. It is a symbol of excellence that represents the highest standard of professional competence, tactical and technical proficiency, and commitment to the proud tradition of Army Medicine's calling to conserve the fighting strength," says Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Luciano, Senior Enlisted Leader for PRMC.
Program leaders say the EFMB is the most prestigious peace time badge one can earn.
Throughout Army Medical Department (AMEDD), less than three percent of personnel have earned the coveted honor.
The following is the list of TAMC's graduating medical personnel: 1st Lt. Harriet Barnhardt, 2nd Lt. James Bogensberger, Capt. Emily Corbin, Capt. David Delgado, 1st Lt. Taemin Kim, Sgt. Mario Leon, Capt. Jeffrey Meadows, Sgt. Michael Sohn, Sgt. Dustin Webster and 1st Lt. Jacon Orrino who was also recognized as the written test champion.
