WEST POINT, NY (April 4, 2014) -- The U.S. Military Academy Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt. Maj. Delbert Byers, led West Point's noncommissioned officers on a run around the installation April 4. The physical training session served as an opportunity to build esprit de corps and to raise awareness of the Army's SHARP program. April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, an annual observance to raise awareness and educate communities on the prevention of sexual violence.The U.S. Army, in conjunction with the Department of Defense, is implementing the new 2014 SAAM theme Speak Up! A Voice Unheard is an Army Defeated, which is designed to strengthen the collective moral and ethical commitment, in keeping with Army Values and Warrior Ethos, to show respect and dignity for every Soldier, Department of the Army Civilian, family member, and the nation.
