ANSBACH, Germany (March 7, 2014) -- Representatives of the U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach, the Defense Health Agency and the U.S. Army Bavaria Medical Department Activity, as well as invited guests from the city of Ansbach, the Bavarian State Construction Office, the Ansbach County, and host-nation health care providers, gathered at Urlas March 7, 2014, for the official groundbreaking for the new Health and Dental Clinic.

The construction project, which is expected to be finished in 2016, will cost more than $31 million and result in a modern combined facility housing optometry services, hearing conservation, pharmacy, physical therapy, laboratory, behavioral health services, social work, TRICARE and radiology on more than 51,000 square feet.
