FORT SILL, Okla. (March 6, 2014) -- High rollers, flappers, Palookas and everyone else is invited to the Patriot Spouses' Club main spring fundraiser the "Roaring '20s Casino Night" March 8 from 5:30 p.m. to midnight at the Patriot Club.

The free event is open to the public for adults and features non-monetary gaming, two auctions and a costume contest.

The money raised is for the PSC's educational scholarship and grant programs which benefit Fort Sill military spouses and family members, said Tabitha Lambert, the club's 2nd vice president.

In addition to a new theme, attendees who purchase game chips will automatically have the chance to win one of three opportunity baskets, including a date night-themed basket.

Almost15 tables will be set up for blackjack and poker, said Julie Simpson, PSC publicist. Game winners will be awarded vouchers which can be used for purchases at the General Store. The store will feature boutique items, gift cards sets, funny signs, and gourmet baked goods.

A silent auction held upstairs in the Artillery Room will take bids the duration of the evening, and it will feature items donated from businesses and home-based businesses, including boutique baskets.

Attendees can peruse the items and place their written bids. At the end of the evening, the winning bids will be announced.

A live auction in the downstairs ballroom will begin at 9:15 p.m. and include themed baskets created by families from brigades and businesses. The live auction tends to be lively and loud.

"We have awesome items because we are getting a lot of support from coffee groups, units and businesses," Lambert said of the items available at the auctions. "We have a lot of 1920s-themed baskets including a large smoker basket and prohibition-type baskets."

The 1920s costume contest will award the best dressed man and best dressed woman with awards, Lambert said.

"Whoever is super into the 20s and is just letting it all go -- that's what we're looking for," she said.

Casino night will be co-located with the Dueling Pianos International, a song and comedy show and buffet, which also begins at 5:30 p.m. Cost for Dueling Pianos is $25, and tickets can be purchased at Adventure Travel in Bldg. 4700.
