SMDC officer retires

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- A U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command officer has removed the uniform for the last time to begin new challenges.

Joseph "Bo" Taylor III, deputy G-6, SMDC, retired at the command's Redstone Arsenal headquarters Feb. 25.

During the ceremony, Taylor received the Meritorious Service Medal; the Noble Patron of Space; a certificate of appreciation; an American flag; a three-star note from Lt. Gen. David Mann, SMDC's commanding general; a four-star note and coin from Gen. Dennis Via, Army Materiel Command commanding general; and a certificate of retirement and pin.

Taylor retires with 20 years of military service.
