REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- A U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command Soldier will be beginning the next chapter of his life.

James Sneed, G-3 noncommissioned officer in charge, SMDC, retired in a ceremony at the command's Redstone Arsenal headquarters Feb. 18.

During the ceremony, Sneed received a Meritorious Service Medal, a certificate of appreciation, a three-star note from SMDC's commanding general, an American flag, and a certificate of retirement and pin.

Sneed retires with 27 years of military service.
