SCHWEINFURT, Germany (Feb. 21, 2014) -- A Schweinfurt job center is offering services to all Americans, even to those who currently have SOFA status, according to the Schweinfurt Expats founder.

U.S. citizens can register in the Agentur für Arbeit, or Employment Agency, system and seek employment advice at no cost, said Sean Hillyer of the Schweinfurt Expats, an organization aimed at assisting Americans who will continue living in Schweinfurt beyond garrison closure in September 2014.

U.S. employees working on post can also take advantage of this service, said Hillyer.

The Schweinfurt Employment Agency offers a variety of services for jobseekers in Germany, including current federal employees who are preparing to transition to the German employment market. The agency realizes the challenges facing Americans in Schweinfurt and is prepared to help them meet those challenges head on.

Anyone can use the Employment Agency's online job market to search for employment. Jobseekers can also register for an account and set up a profile detailing their employment and education history, job experience, specialized training and more.

Local employers can view these profiles while searching for potential employees. This means that in addition to seeking work on the online market, jobseekers can also market themselves to potential employers.

Additionally, any American wishing to stay in Schweinfurt can request a personal consultation with an agency representative. Book a consultation in person, during regular office hours, by visiting the Employment Agency location responsible for the area in which you live. A searchable registry is available online.

Appointments can also be made over the phone by calling 0800-4-5555-00.
