ANSBACH, Germany (Feb. 20, 2014) -- Today, USAREUR and IMCOM will announce and outline some military, U.S. civilian, and local national personnel changes that will occur within USAREUR in fiscal years 2014 and 2015. Not knowing the impact of this message to the USAG Ansbach community, we scheduled several garrison employee all-hands meetings in Katterbach Kaserne and Storck Barracks. This morning, we received the messages and found that the impact to USAG Ansbach is minimal and we will send out the official release at 3 p.m. today.

The impact to other garrisons in USAREUR is more severe and requires a more complex response. Here at USAG Ansbach, we believe we will be able to effect these actions through normal personnel actions and do not anticipate a reduction in force.

Due to the high impact on customer service operations that result from a full garrison employee all-hands briefing, we have cancelled the briefings for today and will allow all employees to remain in their work centers.

I apologize for the confusion this may have caused, but our focus is on customer service and delivery, so we did not feel that our level of impact warranted shutting down customer service operations.

By USAREUR directives, the Garrison Commander has notified the local works council and will complete notifications to host nation officials before noon today. This afternoon, we will release press releases in both English and German that will provide the exact details of the USAREUR announcement. If you have any questions after reading the press releases, please direct them to our website Command Blog, the works council leadership, or your supervisory chain of command, and we will provide you with the answers.
