III Corps and Fort Hood Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, and Command Sgt. Maj. Scott C. Schroeder uncase the III Corps colors in a ceremony at the III Corps headquarters building on Fort Hood Feb. 12, 2014.

A large crowd gathered in the shadow of the massive III Corps headquarters building to witness the event, despite it being a frigid winter morning by Central Texas standards. Dignitaries including the mayors of all four cities that surround Fort Hood attended the event alongside families and friends of III Corps Soldiers.

III Corps was finally home from a nine-month tour of Afghanistan.
