SECKENHEIM, GERMANY - The 3rd Battalion of the 405th Army Field Support Brigade recently received certification from the International Organization for Standardization 9001:2000 for the battalion's quality management system.
The certification process, which took two years of intense organization efforts spearheaded by the 3/405th AFSB's Quality Assurance Directorate, is a significant accomplishment for the organization.
"The central activities cited in the award are maintenance, repair, storage and shipment of military vehicles, small arms and ammunition," said Chief Warrant Officer 3 Chris Acreman, who serves as the chief of the quality assurance directorate. The battalion was also commended for its management of repair parts, kits and components.
"The ISO 9001:2000 achievement is part of the 3/405th AFSB's focused efforts to consistently provide the unique products that address the needs of the Warfighter and represents that firm promise all employees of the 3/405th AFSB provide to the customer," Acreman explained.
The 3/405th AFSB is headquartered at Leghorn Army Depot on Camp Darby, Italy, and has the lead for all U.S. Army Materiel Command activities south of the Alps.
