FORT LEE, Va. -- The U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Terry E. Parham, Sr., as the command's top noncommissioned officer during an assumption of responsibility ceremony Feb. 7.

"A seasoned combat veteran with three deployments, Command Sgt. Maj. Parham is well respected and comes with the highest recommendations from all with whom he has served, to include me," said Maj. Gen. Larry D. Wyche, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general. "I've personally seen him in action; when he was the command sergeant major of 548th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and I was the brigade commander, and I can assure you there is no question he is a sterling example of the noncommissioned officer creed."

Parham, a Dinwiddie, Va., native and 1983 graduate of Petersburg High School, comes to CASCOM from the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as the command sergeant major. Parham was accompanied by his wife Angela, a Petersburg, Va., native, his three children and a host of other family and friends.

"It is an honor to be part of the CASCOM and Fort Lee team," Parham said. "As a young Soldier, I never imagined serving at this level, but leaders don't get to this stage by themselves." He went on to thank the many Soldiers, community and family members for their support throughout his career.

Parham is a graduate of Central Texas College with an associate degree in applied science. He has also attended all levels of noncommissioned officer leadership courses to include the U.S. Army Sergeant's Major Academy and Force Management course.

His awards and decorations include: the Legion of Merit Medal (2nd award); Bronze Star (3rd award); Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), Army Commendation Medal (6th award); Army Achievement Medal (12th award) and Good Conduct Medal (10th award).

CASCOM is responsible for training over 180,000 students annually, through 541 courses taught by the Ordnance, Quartermaster and Transportation schools, Soldier Support Institute and Army Logistics University. It is also a major subordinate command of TRADOC.
