FORT BENNING, Ga., (Jan. 15, 2014) -- Due to lane re-striping on Interstate 185 near the access control point, the inbound lanes leading to the I-185 access control point will be closed from 3 p.m. Jan. 17 through 5 p.m. Jan. 20.
Motorists will still be able to leave the installation on I-185.
During the temporary closure of the I-185 ACP, all other access control points will maintain their regular hours. Motorists can access the installation through access control points at Benning Road, 8th Division Road in Harmony Church and Eddy Bridge.
The temporary closure will take place over a holiday weekend to minimize disruption of traffic.
In the event that inclement weather prevents the re-striping project Jan. 17 through Jan. 20, the work will be postponed until February.
