CAMP HUMPHREYS -- The Provost Marshal's Office, located in Bldg. 481, opened its doors to the community "to see the inside of the MP Station without being in trouble," here Dec. 18.

Besides having the opportunity to meet the PMO staff, community members had met McGruff the Crime Dog, saw various static displays and put together Child Safety and Identification Kits. Besides greeting those who attended, McGruff also took photos with them and served them cookies.

Another part of the open house was the participation and support from Humphreys Central Elementary School in a poster design contest. Winter Safety was the primary theme of the contests, with the posters being used to decorate the PMO.

"Basically, our initiative is to provide something community related once a month," said Master Sgt. Lonnie J. Norris, the Area III Provost Sergeant Major. "We started off with the 'USO Morning Talk with an MP' back in October, and in December with the Christmas season coming around, we decided to open our house to the community."

The following children were the winners of the poster contest (some of the posters only had one name listed): Tania Bush; Hannah; Marianne; Nat; Aodhan Eckles; Sienna; Ivana Saborit; Emma Gregory; Katherine Watson; Nyzel Fagaragan; and Conner Cox.
