G-8 civilian leader retires after 40 years of service

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- A U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command civilian leader is beginning the next chapter of her life after leaving civilian service.

Irene Lloyd, deputy G-8, retired during a luncheon at the Westin Hotel in Huntsville, Ala., Dec. 17 after 40 years of federal service.

During the ceremony, Lloyd received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, a certificate of appreciation, a three-star note, an American flag, and a certificate of retirement and pin.
