Command Information

The Command Information program is the USAG Yongsan Commander's tool for keeping community members informed about issues, policies and events. Command Information also provides an avenue of communication between the community and the USAG Yongsan Command Group.

Public Information

Communication of USAG Yongsan news and information to U.S., Korea and International media.

Community Relations

The goal of the USAG Yongsan Community Relations program is to strengthen Korean-American relations at local and national levels.

The program includes such community outreach activities as the U.S. Forces Korea Good Neighbor Program, sponsorship of orphanages and homes for the elderly, staff rides, support for Korean-American Friendship and People-to-People International groups, a host of educational outreach contacts with area schools and universities and involvement in community cleanup campaigns.

Cultural outreach programs include participation by USAG Yongsan Soldiers in Korean holiday activities and tours to sites of popular or historic interest.

The USAG Yongsan Public Affairs Office also facilitates military-to-military partnership programs.

Media Relations

Members of the media who would like to visit USAG Yongsan to cover an event or to interview soldiers must contact the USAG Yongsan Public Affairs Office.

Authorization for covering most tenant units must also be coordinated through the 8th U.S. Army Public Affairs Office.

Media advisories and press releases

The USAG Yongsan Public Affairs Office will post media advisories about upcoming events or send press releases to media outlets via fax and/or e-mail. Media organizations that would like to be included on the press advisory or release distribution list must contact the USAG Yongsan Public Affairs Office.

Hometown News Release Program

A great way to keep folks back home informed is to submit a Hometown News Release that will be forwarded to a Soldier's hometown newspaper or to the newspaper serving in a relative's area.
