CAMP HUMPHREYS -- The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, held at Transformation Park and featuring a visit from Santa Claus, kicked off the holiday festivities here Dec. 6. Following the tree lighting, the community had the opportunity to participate in the Garrison Cookie Social and the opening of the Holiday Bazaar, at the Humphreys Community Fitness Center. Prior to the tree lighting by Brig. Gen. Erik C. Peterson, the 2nd Infantry Division deputy commanding general for support and senior responsible officer here, attendees were busy decorating trees for the yearly unit Christmas Tree Competition and listening to tunes from the Humphreys Middle/High School choir and string ensemble. Following Santa's arrival by fire truck, everyone was invited to join the parade over to the fitness center for homemade holiday treats, beverages and entertainment by the HMHS wind ensemble.
