BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- The Honorable Alan F. Estevez, assistant secretary of defense for logistics and materiel readiness, and other Department of Defense logistics leaders visited the 401st Army Field Support Brigade's area of operations Dec. 14-15 to receive updates on current operations.

Estevez, who manages logistics policy and processes to provide superior, cost effective, joint logistics support to the Warfighter and performs logistics program oversight to manage more than $190 billion in Department of Defense logistics operations, was accompanied by the Honorable Sharon E. Burke, assistant secretary of defense for operational energy plans and programs; U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Robert R. Ruark, director of logistics, J-4; Vice Adm. Mark D. Harnitchek, director of the Defense Logistics Agency; Lt. Gen. Raymond V. Mason, assistant deputy chief of staff, Army G-4; U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Judith A. Fedder, deputy chief of staff for logistics, installations and mission support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force; Vice Adm. Philip H. Cullom, deputy chief of naval operations for fleet Readiness and logistics; U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. William Faulkner, deputy commandant for installations and logistics; Maj. Gen. Gustave F. Perna, U.S. Army Materiel Command deputy chief of staff for logistics and operations; and Maj. Gen. Aundre Piggee, director of U.S. Central Command, J-4.
