VILSECK, Germany -- The American Red Cross is partnering with Arts in the Armed Forces (AITAF) to present three performances across Germany.

For the first time, AITAF actors and actresses will perform a mixture of comedic and dramatic monologues in their holiday tour abroad for wounded Soldiers and overseas U.S. military troops and their families.

The group will perform one show at the Grafenwoehr Performing Arts Center, Dec. 18, at 3 p.m., in addition to performances in Landstuhl and Ramstein Air Base.

"Arts in the Armed Forces has been dreaming of going overseas to perform for the troops since we founded the organization," said Joanne Tucker, Arts In The Armed Forces co-artistic director.

"We can think of no better time than the holiday season to deploy what we do abroad to serve those who have sacrificed so much, and can't wait to meet and commune with each and every one of them."

The 90-minute performance will feature some of the acting industry's brightest theater, television and film stars including Reed Birney (Changeling), Desmin Borges (Mr. Popper's Penguins), Michael Chernus (Captain Phillips), Gary Cole (Office Space), Adam Driver (Girls, Lincoln), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange is the new Black), Raven Symone (That's So Raven), Tracie Thoms (Rent), Joanne Tucker (Gayby), and Sheldon Woodley (Sh**y Fabulous Lives).

Each performance will feature a series of colorful monologues and scenes from America's best modern plays and is not exclusively war-themed.

The events are free to all U.S. ID cardholders and a ticket is required for entry.

The material performed is of an adult nature and is considered R-rated. No unattended minors under the age of 18 will be permitted.

The actors will also tour some facilities on post and connect one-on-one Soldiers and their families during the tour.
