JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Members of the 404th Army Field Support Brigade command team have been helping to ensure those in need are not forgotten this Christmas season.

Col. James Moore Jr., commander; Command Sgt. Maj. Terry Burton, brigade sergeant major; Master Sgt. William Johnson, brigade Operations noncommissioned officer-in-charge; Sgt. 1st Class Farida Durham, program project officer; Shelly Hinzman, who serves as an elf, and Lisa Bennett, Santa's Castle president, delivered donations to the base's gift program late November.

The Santa's Castle program has provided Christmas presents since 1994 to the children of Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, active National Guard and Reserve families (specialist and below) experiencing financial difficulty.

Last year, Santa's Castle provided gifts to 1,866 children from nearly 837 families. This was possible because of the volunteers and generosity of those who have donated funds and toys in support of Santa's Castle.

Santa's Castle is operated entirely by volunteers.

Donors and volunteers are dedicated to ensuring the children of military heroes receive Christmas gifts. Donations are accepted throughout the year and can be coordinated by calling (253) 964-0635.
