PETERSBURG, Va. - 1st. Lt. Nicholas Jancaitis, Foxtrot Company executive officer, 16th Ordnance Battalion, 59th Ordnance Brigade, joined Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, first lady Maureen McDonnell and City of Petersburg officials in opening the new Freedom Support Center for Veterans Nov. 12. Jancaitis, along with a group of Ordnance Soldiers, helped in the renovation of the center as part of the Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee's Community Connect program. The building will be home to many agencies serving the needs of veterans to include the Virginia Employment Commission Military Affairs Unit, Veterans Administration and Virginia Supportive Housing.
