VILSECK, Germany -- Dr. Terry Greene, deputy director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, Dr. Liz Dunham, Bavarian superintendent, and Doug McEnery, assistant Bavarian superintendent recently sat down for a luncheon and question-and-answer session with Student Council officers from Vilseck Elementary School.
At the meeting, students shared with the VIPs the activities and changes they are making to support the school's vision: Vilseck Expects Success.
One such change is that the morning announcements are created and read by the student council.
Each morning examples of the school's continuous improvement goals for reading and math are shared, along with individual success stories, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council members also recognize incoming new students and bid farewell to those departing the Home of the Lions.
DoDDS Europe VIPs enjoyed their time at VES and were impressed with the student council members.
They shared their experiences with the students at a volunteer meeting with teachers at the end of the day.
