The Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region/U.S. Army Military District of Washington Chaplains Office hosted an open house and lunch to showcase their new office at Fort Lesley J. McNair, Nov, 4.
"Awesome facility! I am very impressed by the Chaplains new location," said Stan Trader, Plans and Operations J/G1. "Kudos to everyone involved in designing and making this a first class office."
The Chaplains office moved from Building 45 to the recently remodeled Building 48 Annex. Visitors to the new location were treated to tour and lunch.
"This event was important in three ways," said Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Mitch Butterworth, MDW deputy command chaplain. "Number one, it helped orientate the staff and directorates to the location of the new office. Number two; it was a morale and team building activity for staff and directorates; and number three, the open house provided an outlet for everyone to decompress and interface with other staff and directorates."
"Thanks to the Chaplain staff for putting together a great Open House," said Trader. "Not only was the food fantastic, but the welcoming and friendly atmosphere that is always projected by their staff is a blessing."
According to Butterworth, the new office is spacious, comfortable, modern, and functional. "I think that service members, civilians, and their families will appreciate the space, comfort, and warm environment should they need to seek out a Chaplain for assistance," said Butterworth.
