416th TEC new release change of command

DARIEN, Ill. - A major Chicago area U.S. Army Reserve Command is having an important Change of Command Ceremony. The 416th Theater Engineer Command, based in Darien Ill, will have a ceremony to mark the event on January 5th at the Parkhurst Army Reserve Center located in Darien at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the drill hall of the facility. Maj. Gen. David Conboy will be replacing the outgoing commander, Brig. Gen. Charles Martin. He will take responsibility for over 12 thousand Soldiers nationwide.

The 416th is a Theater-Level engineering command which provides technical and tactical engineer support to US forces deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. Domestically, the 416th TEC trains and equips units and Soldiers in 26 states west of the Mississippi River to deploy and participate in humanitarian service operations and joint training exercises in Central America, South America and the Middle East. The 416th TEC currently has over 2400 Soldiers deployed in support of the Global War on Terror in 165 units.
