Columbus Cottonmouths: Team hosts annual Military Appreciation Night for Soldiers, Families

FORT BENNING, Ga., (Oct. 23, 2013) -- Each season, the Columbus Cottonmouths host a Military Appreciation Night honoring the nation's service members and their Families.

The team invites approximately 3,000 Soldiers out to the game at no cost, with plenty of action on and off the ice. The Cottonmouths will take on the Knoxville Ice Bears for this year's event, set for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Columbus Civic Center. A second Military Night is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 18, as the Cottonmouths face the Fayetteville FireAntz.

Jerome Bechard, head coach and general manager of the Cottonmouths, said the team will support the upcoming Fort Benning Armor and Infantry hockey match Nov. 2, and will offer special jerseys to donate to the local House of Heroes chapter. Throughout the season, military discounts are offered courtesy of TIC Federal Credit Union.
