SMDC/ARSTRAT selects NCO and Soldier of the Year

A ceremony was conducted today in which the 2008 U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command
Noncommissioned Officer of the Year and Soldier of the Year were announced. After a grueling weeklong competition, Staff Sgt. Christopher L. Barber was selected as the 2008 SMDC/ARSTRAT Noncommissioned Officer of the Year and Spc. Michael Moore was selected as the 2008 SMDC/ARSTRAT Soldier of the Year. Both Barber and Moore are with 1st Space Company (Theater Missile Warning), 1st Space Battalion. Barber is stationed with Charlie Detachment, 1st Space Company in Misawa, Japan, and Moore is stationed with Alpha Detachment, 1st Space Company in Stuttgart, Germany.
