MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU AIR BASE, Romania -- Joint Task Force-East hosted 32 Romanian and U.S. sergeants major during the task force's Noncommissioned Officer Day July 15.

"It was a great opportunity to share training (and) military knowledge, and for camaraderie," said JTF-E Command Sgt. Maj. Angel Clark-Davis.

For many of the senior NCOs it was more than just a learning experience. It was a class reunion. Romanian and American members of four graduating classes of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy were reunited at the event here.

In addition to the 32 sergeants major, a group of 10 first sergeants and master sergeants took part in the day's events.

Those events included a class on the eight-step training model and demonstrations of JTF-E's Call for Fire trainer and Humvee Egress Assistance Trainer used to teach Soldiers how to react to a vehicle rollover.

"The goal was for some of the Romanian sergeants major to be better informed of what we have to offer and what we have to share with them, should they need the help," Clark-Davis said.

The day's activities ended with a dinner social at a local Romanian restaurant.

This is the second year JTF-E has hosted the event.
