WIESBADEN, Germany --- U.S. Army Europe Commander Lt. Gen. Donald M. Campbell Jr. recognized one of USAREUR's outstanding civilian employees here with the John J. Dinnien Civilian Award for Excellence, today.

Mr. James K. Miller, who serves as the chief of the awards and actions branch for USAREUR Headquarters personnel directorate (G-1) in Wiesbaden, Germany received the award.

The John J. Dinnien Award was created to recognize the contributions of Army civilians in military personnel management. The award is named in honor of Mr. John J. Dinnien, who epitomized the best qualities of a professional human resource manager, and always placed service to the soldier above all else.

Mr. Miller, who has accumulated of over 25 years of service in military personnel management, was also named as the 2013 AG Corps Regimental Civilian of the Year. He has worked for USAREUR for five years.

LTG Campbell, presenter of the award, cited the hard work and dedication of Miller. He also noted Miller made outstanding contributions as a noncommissioned officer, retired from active duty, and continues to make outstanding contributions as an Army civilian.

"This recognition certainly signifies the professionalism, the commitment and the values a leader aspires to have in a DA civilian," Campbell said. "This award speaks highly of you as a professional."

Miller said that this award epitomizes the highest standards set by personnel in the field of personnel management.

"I am extremely honored to be recognized for this achievement," he said. "This is a team fight, thank you."
