Chief Warrant Officer Four Jesse O. Pascua hails from Waipahu, Hawaii and received a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
He entered the United States Army in 1987 and graduated from the Basic Course at the School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. He served as a trombonist with the 25th Infantry Division (L) Band at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; the 26th Army Band, Ft. Hamilton, New York; the 2nd Armored Division Band and the 4th Infantry Division Band (M) in Ft. Hood, Texas; and a second tour with the 25th Infantry Division (L) Band before being accepted into the Army Warrant Officer/Bandmaster Program. Upon graduation he was assigned as the commander of the 4th Infantry Division (M) Band in Ft. Hood, Texas. He led the organization to its first deployment in 33 years to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pascua was the commander and bandmaster of the 25th Infantry Division Band and led this organization to its first deployment since Viet Nam in 2004 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2006, he again deployed with the band for 15 months to Tikrit, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. He was the Executive Officer of the 56th Army Band, Ft. Lewis, Washington, America's Corps Band from March 2008 to August 2010.
He was most recently the commander and bandmaster of the 98th Army "Silver Wings" Band before assuming his present position here with the AMC Band.
Pascua is a graduate of PLDC, BNCOC and the Air Assault Courses. He is also a graduate of the Warrant Officer Senior Course and Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with 3 oak leaf clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (with 2 oak leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (with oak leaf cluster), the Good Conduct Medal (4th award), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (with bronze star), the Combat Action Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
ABOUT THE BAND
The AMC Band proudly serves the Soldiers and civilians of the U.S. Army Materiel Command stationed at more than 140 locations worldwide. The band, with its five Music Performance Teams, travels extensively throughout the country and overseas supporting 30 installations, 26 major tenants, seven Army Field Support Brigades, 11 subordinate commands, and four separate reporting activities within the AMC enterprise.
Since November 2003, the band has deployed in support of AMC Soldiers and civilians forward deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. The AMC band has performed in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Afghanistan. The band is under the purview of the AMC chief of staff.
Please submit requests no later than 90 days for community relations events and 45 days for troop support functions. Late requests NOT within the 90 and 45 day window, must be submitted along with a memorandum of explanation to the CofS, HQ AMC, stating the circumstances for lateness, and critical nature of the mission support requested.
MUSIC PERFORMANCE TEAMS
Raw Materiel
The AMC show band, Raw Materiel, performs rock and pop tunes you would expect to hear on your radio. It is a lively pop group that is most suited for troop support missions, recruiting and community relations events. Since 2004, Raw Materiel has deployed every year on short, temporary change-of-station missions in support of forward deployed AMC Soldiers and civilians.
Brass Quintet & Woodwind Quintet
These five-Soldier Music Support Teams perform in both formal and infomal settings. Designed to be small and portable, they are capable of performing traditional and popular Americana, as well as ceremonial music. They are available for recruiting and troop support. Both teams enjoy assisting local band directors in musical development and artistic performance through classes in area schools.
Four-Star Jazz Orchestra
This 24-member Jazz Orchestra performs an exciting array of music from Big Band Swing, Bebop, Latin, Contemorary and Standard Jazz to Popular Charts, Dixieland and Patriotic Selections. Our vocalists entertain audiences with the styles of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and others. So whether you enjoy the sounds of the great big band era or the new sounds of today, the Four-Star Jazz Orchestra will definitely have you moving and singing with excitement! Request this ensemble to entertain large audiences for concerts, clinics, special events and festivals.
AMC Lite
AMC Lite is a Flute and Guitar duo and at times performs with the addition of the string bass. AMC Lite performs light jazz, classical and pop background music as well as patriotic, praise and worship songs for your formal or intimate events. While being flexible to any style, they can provide music for those special occasions to include: receptions, dinners, house warming events, religious services and more. They are portable and flexible, requiring limited setup and breakdown time for indoor or outdoor events. AMC Lite provides the widest possible range of musical styles and selections in small or medium venues.
The Tennessee River Ramblers
This 6-piece Dixieland Jazz combo plays the exciting music of the 1920's. With standards from Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Beiderbeck and other early New Orleans and Chicago jass heroes, this group is certain to get your toes tapping, your fingers snapping and your smile broadening. You may even find yourself singing along, spooibly from the stage! This group will fit a variety of small to medium venues and situations where the emphasis is on fun and entertainment.
Hazardous Materiel
The AMC Band's jazz combo, Hazardous Materiel, is a small team of three to six Soldiers that provide mostly legacy music from the jazz idiom, but are also capable of performing music styles such as rock, funk and Latin. The are most often requested for military banquets, receptions and community relations events.
OTHER AMC BAND CAPABILITIES
Marching Band
The marching component of the band performs for outdoor ceremonial functions such as change of command ceremonies, military retirement ceremonies and military school graduations and parades. Local civil organization often invite the band to perform, providing excitement and patriotic flare that only a military band can display.
Concert Band
All of the Soldiers assigned to the unit perform in the concert band, making it the band's largest performing group. The concert band performs throughout the U.S. promoting community relations between local AMC installations and their communities.
Ceremonial Band
The ceremonial band is a smaller component of the marching band and is best suited for sit-down military ceremonies, flag-pole ceremonies and other military events not requiring a full marching band.
