FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii -- Soldiers and officers from throughout U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) gathered to welcome Maj. Gen. Jim Pasquarette as their new chief of staff during a Flying "V" ceremony July 24 at historic Palm Circle, here. Gen. Vincent K. Brooks, USARPAC commanding general, officiated the ceremony and welcomed Pasquarette and his family into the ranks of the USARPAC Ohana. The Flying "V" ceremony traditionally honors senior Army officials when they assume duties or depart from an Army command and refers to the way the colors are posted in a V-shaped formation during the ceremony.
