ANSBACH, Germany - July 2, 2013 Armed Forces Entertainment and USAG Ansbach MWR brought the nu-metal bands Korn, and Love & Death to Katterbach Army Airfield, Germany.
Before their performance, the members of Korn were escorted to the flight line and received VIP tours of UH-60 Blackhawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. They were met by the helicopter crews and given short briefings of the mission and capabilities of each helicopter and then they did what everyone wants to do, climb in the cockpit, climb up on top of them, and get their picture taken.
After their short introduction to US Army Aviation, Korn then took the time to hold a special photo opportunity session with Soldiers from the Warrior Transition Unit and volunteers from the USAG Ansbach Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program. The Wounded Warriors and BOSS volunteers got a chance to have their pictures taken with the band and get autographed pictures. Korn stated "This is the least we can do to show our appreciation for what you do, we cannot say thank you enough..."
Following the photo session and before the concert the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Clowser, presented Brian "Head" Welch of Love and Death and Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu of Korn with commemorative plaques and 12th CAB coins.
The concert began with the band Love and Death, founded by Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, and they rocked the crowd for about an hour. Korn then played for over two hours had a three song encore ending with the song "Freak on a Leash."
