Soldiers of the Presidential Salute Battery, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), conduct a "Salute to the Union" on Whipple Field at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va., July 4, 2013. Soldiers fired a total of 50 rounds in honor of each state. The event commemorated the Fourth of July, which signifies the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.
