ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. -- Soldiers of the Army Sustainment Command supported Casa Guanajuato Quad Cities Fiesta Camp at Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., on June 19, as part of a leadership-based field trip.
The all-day field trip included warfighters' stories, a fire department and museum tour, a window bus tour, and a weapons display.
The main lesson the Soldiers focused on was how to be successful in the military, and in life, and what the children should do now if they want to have a rewarding future.
"You have to be good students and get good grades," said former 1st Sgt. Luther Kirby, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, ASC.
According to Col. Robin Moralez, operations officer, ASC, there are three keys to success in any field.
"Stay in school and get educated, stay healthy, and make good choices," said Moralez, referring to the ability to control one's future.
Fiesta Camp is a dual-language based summer camp whose focus is on developing educational skills, English and Spanish language skills, and leadership skills.
