In celebration of the U.S. Army's 238th Birthday, U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys hosted a cake cutting ceremony in the Exchange foyer area between the Food Court and the Main Store. After providing a brief history of the U.S. Army to those eating at the Food Court, Command Sgt. Maj. Kristine A. Purnell, the Humphreys Garrison command sergeant major, joined Col. Darin S. Conkright, Humphreys Garrison commander, Sgt. 1st Class Reginald Davis Sr. and Pfc. Mary Samaniego in cutting the cake. Davis, assigned to U.S. Army Correctional Activity-Korea, was determined to be the garrison's oldest Soldier, with Samaniego, assigned to Company E, 3-2 General Support Aviation Battalion, the youngest.
