
PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. -- Col. Kevin P. Stoddard was decorated with the Defense Superior Service Medal during his June 5, change of command ceremony at the U.S. Army's Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey based Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Springfield. He will assume the duties of Director of NATO Contract Operations, Afghanistan.
Stoddard received the Defense Superior Service Medal for his achievements during his three years as Director. During his command, Stoddard oversaw three field offices, 162 civilian and military members, 550 highly technical commercial contractors, which exceeded 4,027 contracts valued over $13.8 Billion dollars. His office served all branches of the U.S. military to include contracts from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Stoddard, a St. Augustine, Florida native, is a 1983 graduate of Clay High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in 1988 from the University of Florida. He joined the Army in 1988 and holds a Masters of Business and Science Degree in Acquisition and Procurement, and a Masters in Strategic Studies. He is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College and United States Army War College.
His combat experiences include Operation Just Cause, Panama, Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm; Operation Joint Endeavor, Bosnia and service in current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. His badges and decorations include, the Combat Infantry's Badge, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Senior Jump Master's Parachute badge with Bronze Combat Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals- Army (4th Oak Leaf Cluster), The Army Commendation Medal (3rd Oak Leaf Cluster) Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2nd Award, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the NATO Service Medal.
