ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- Anniston Army Depot's Outdoor Recreation organization offers a wide variety of equipment rentals that are perfect for summer activities.
Small boats, kayaks and canoes give depot employees, retirees and other eligible MWR patrons freedom to explore on the water while A-line campers and recreational vehicles provide a safe place to sleep at night.
Need to rent a grill for a party or event? They have them, along with yard games, inflatables and even a dunk tank.
Reservations are required for all large equipment and a deposit may be required as well.
The equipment may be rented to be used on or off depot property.
For those who want to stay close to home, the depot's RV park, Cone Reservoir, Jones Knob and White Oak Recreation Area provide a relaxing spot.
Fishing is permitted at the reservoir with a valid fishing license and permit. The site also offers barbecue grills, walking trails, picnic areas, two floating piers and a boat launch.
The Lakes at Jones Knob feature a playground, pavilion, tennis courts and small lakes stocked with fish.
Another playground is available at the White Oak Recreation Area, which has a one-acre lake with an accent fountain, walking trail and pavilion.
Cost of equipment rentals varies by the type of equipment and number of days. The three picnic facilities may be reserved at no charge.
