GRAFENWOEHR, Germany -- Arnel Valenzuela, a teacher at Netzaberg Middle School and member of the Knights of Columbus, smiles while donating blood at the Tower Barracks USO on U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr, June 4.

The Knights of Columbus, Fr. H. Timothy Vakoc Assembly 3373, sponsored a blood drive in conjunction with the Landstuhl Blood Donor Center and the USO.

The Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, of the European Region consists of Catholic men from Germany, Italy and England. These men uphold the virtues of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

First Lt. Kelly Tucker, officer in charge, Donor Center Operations, Landstuhl Blood Donor Center, Armed Services Blood Program, reported that the unit collected 107 units of whole blood at Grafenwoehr, which is the second highest total ever collected at that location. In 2008, 127 units were collected.
