William Glodek, a computer scientist in the U.S. Army Research Laboratory's Computational and Information Sciences Directorate, Network Security Branch, was recently selected as one of the winners of the 2012 Louis Dellamonica Award for Outstanding Army Material Command Personnel of the Year.
This annual award, named in honor of Louis Dellamonica, a general engineer at the Hawthorne Army Depot, is given to 10 employees who improve AMC's mission, motivate other employees, and are viewed in high regard by their peers.
Dellamonica's illustrious 65-year career exemplifies integrity, innovation, leadership and outstanding dedication to AMC's mission.
"First and foremost, I am truly honored to be recognized with the 2012 Louis Dellamonica Award for Outstanding AMC Personnel of the Year," said Glodek.
"With more than 65 years of dedicated service to the Army, Mr. Dellamonica represents the best qualities of an AMC employee and to be associated with him is very humbling," added Glodek.
Glodek said that while being recognized individually is a great honor, this award demonstrates the efforts and unique talents of all the dedicated people in the ARL family.
He takes great pride in our organization and believes this award acknowledges ARL as a premier laboratory within the Army.
"This achievement would not have been possible without the great team members I'm surrounded by every day. I will continue to positively represent AMC/RDECOM/ARL personnel and Mr. Dellamonica in the future - 8.5 years down, 56.5 years to go," Glodek stated.
