PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III visited the operations arm of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command May 15 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Chandler was in Colorado Springs for the 2013 Warrior Games and found time to visit SMDC/ARSTRAT and receive an update on the space-based capabilities Army Space Soldiers provided to combatant commanders and Warfighters on the ground.
He was greeted by Lt. Gen. Richard P. Formica, commanding general for SMDC, and SMDC Command Sgt. Maj. James N. Ross.
Chandler also visited with North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command next door to SMDC. He ended his visit by having lunch with Soldiers from SMDC/ARSTRAT and NORAD/NORTHCOM at the base's Aragon Dining Facility.
