Military, local communities honor veterans during All Veterans Memorial Service

FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas " Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV and James Fenimore lead a procession as they prepare to place a wreath at the base of the Vietnam Memorial during the All Veterans Memorial Service April 28 in San Antonio. Caldwell, the commanding general of U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and senior commander for Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, served as the event's guest speaker. Fenimore is the commissioner for Vietnam Veterans of America and served as the master of ceremonies. The memorial service honors veterans " both past and present.

Anne Collins, a Marine Corps veteran from World War II, leads those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance April 28 during the All Veterans Memorial Service in San Antonio. The memorial service honors both past and present veterans. At the conclusion of the ceremony, military and civilian community members placed wreaths, bouquets and flowers at the base of the Vietnam Memorial in memory of those who have served.
