JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. - Spc. Timothy J. Beringer, 24, of Katy, Texas, was presented the Army Commendation with Valor at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., March 25. The presentation at JBLM was to recognize his valorous actions as a medical evacuation driver, May 28, 2012, during a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Beringer's courageous actions, while assisting with the treatment and casualty evacuation of comrades who had been severely wounded, resulted in successfully saving the lives of his comrades. Beringer is currently serving as an infantryman with Company B, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. Lt. Col. Corey Crosbie, 1-23 Infantry Commander, presented the award before an audience that included his leadership and comrades-in-arms.
