Transformation Decision Analysis Center (TDAC)

The DEVCOM Analysis Center (DAC) and The Research Analysis Center (TRAC) have transitioned together to a new organization called the Transformation Decision Analysis Center (TDAC). We will be posting information on the newly formed organization soon.

Mission

Lead, conduct and deliver relevant, credible, objective, and timely analysis in support of Army decisions needs.

Vision

TDAC is recognized across all echelons of the Army and our partners as the premier source for world-class, value-added, all-domain Army analysis products that are required to inform system and formation design, fielding and operations decisions.

Who is TDAC?

The Transformation Decision Analysis Center (TDAC) serves as a vital component of the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command, operating under the Future & Concepts Command.

Core Functions

At TDAC, our core functions are essential to supporting the Army's decision-making processes through comprehensive analysis. We conduct systems and formation effectiveness analyses that are crucial for informing key decisions made by the Army, Joint Forces, and the Office of the Secretary of War. These analyses provide the foundation for understanding how new capabilities and force structures can enhance operational effectiveness. By developing, maintaining, and sharing authoritative Army systems performance data, we ensure that decision-makers have access to accurate and relevant information that drives strategic actions. Additionally, we engage in foundational analytic enabling activities, including the development of scenarios that prepare the Army for future challenges. Our commitment to delivering validated weaponeering methods empowers the Joint Force and enhances operational planning, while our focus on innovative analytic methods, models, and tools reflects our dedication to continuously improving our capabilities in a dynamic environment.

Core Competencies

TDAC’s core competencies position us as leaders in the analytical domain, allowing us to fulfill our mission effectively. Our operational analysis leads are responsible for guiding analysis teams, ensuring that our work informs senior leader decisions and enhances strategic planning. We specialize in formation effectiveness, analyzing the impact of new capabilities on operational readiness and effectiveness. Through scenario development, we create realistic, traceable scenarios that align with the National Defense Strategy, which are essential for strategic foresight. Our expertise in operational modeling and simulations (M&S) enables us to assess the potential implications of various capabilities and concepts, providing critical insights for decision-makers. Furthermore, our focus on cyber resilience and electromagnetic warfare includes conducting vulnerability assessments that help identify and mitigate risks in these increasingly important areas. We also assess human systems integration, which examines Soldier vulnerability and performance to ensure that our forces are optimized for success. Our analytical efforts extend to sustainment and systems performance, where we analyze reliability, predictive logistics, and system vulnerabilities to support the Army's operational readiness. These competencies collectively reinforce our position as a trusted source of analysis, ensuring that we contribute meaningfully to the Army's transformation efforts.
