Unified Quest 2012 - Building Partnerships and Partner Capacity
What is it?
The next Unified Quest 2012 seminar, How the Army Builds Partners and Capacity to Prevent, Shape and Win, is scheduled from Feb. 7 through Feb. 10 in Potomac, Md. During this seminar, participants will examine how the Army of 2020 will train, organize and employ its capabilities to shape the operational environment through building partners and capacity. Recommendations will inform senior leaders and shape future decisions on how the Army must be postured in 2020 to build partner capacities. Insights will support the nation's security strategy and will be incorporated across the Army Concept Framework.
What has the Army done?
Unified Quest 2012 is one of the key components of the Army's Campaign of Learning and is designed to set the conditions to examine and make recommendations on the Army of 2020. The first Unified Quest 2012 event in October identified plausible alternative futures that could influence the operational environment of 2020. In November, Unified Quest partnered with the Center for the Army Profession and Ethic to examine Army Profession Strengthening Initiatives. During December and January, Unified Quest focused on what the Army will need to do in 2020 and how the Army will fight.
What continued efforts does the Army have planned for the future?
Results from this seminar and succeeding seminars will be put to the test during the Army Future Game in June 2012. At the end of Unified Quest 2012, senior Army leaders will make informed decisions on how to drive change in the Army to provide depth and versatility of these forces in support of the joint force commander.
Why is this important to the Army?
The Unified Quest Future Study Plan drives change by helping the Army develop a future force capable of meeting the needs of the 21st century operating environment. Unified Quest is the Army's think tank and helps drive change that will provide the nation an agile, versatile and campaign-quality Army in support of the joint force.
