Newcomer Hollis takes top slot in Anniston at Army JROTC Air Rifle Championship

Charles Hollis, an Army Junior ROTC Cadet and senior at Rayville High School in Louisiana, won the sporter division while Kevin Cruz won the precision division of the 2012 Army JROTC Air Rifle Championships. The competition was held Friday and Saturday simultaneously at Camp Perry, Ohio, and Anniston , Ala. But the two champions both competed in Anniston.

Most of the teams who participated Friday and Saturday in the 2012 Army Junior ROTC Air Rifle Championships in Anniston, Ala., the basic equipment was given to them. And like most high school programs, beyond that they have to provide for themselves.

Scores were tallied for the day, but the final round of competition takes place Saturday. The final scores will be averaged to see which team is best, and which individual rises to the top.
