The major differences between American society and other cultures can be overwhelming and often result in culture shock when traveling abroad. By knowing ahead of time what to expect from other countries and what is and isn't acceptable in their customs will aid travelers in their international interactions.

But for 1206 sales cases, the purchase is funded through Department of Defense appropriated funds. According to the National Defense Authorization Act, Section 1206, its purpose is to equip, supply and train foreign military who support U.S. military in joint operations.

Around 35 percent of headquarters USASAC employees moved from Fort Belvoir which included all senior leadership. This has allowed the experienced leadership to mentor many of the new hires who have come to USASAC after its relocation to Redstone.

A tool kit to repair a jeep may not be the first image that comes to mind for humanitarian relief efforts, but it is a critical part of the logistical support needed to sustain recovery efforts in countries such as Haiti. One of the many aspects of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command’s (USASAC) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program is providing equipment and support to international partners’ humanitarian relief efforts. Uruguay recently purchased not only 24 jeeps, but tool kits that were essential to keep the jeeps running as it began its role as part of the United Nation’s assistance program in Haiti.
