Community remembers 1995 Riyadh bombing

More than a 150 friends, family and workers gathered at Redstone Arsenal Nov. 13 to remember the fallen and commemorate the anniversary of the 1995 bombing that took the lives of six Office of the Program Manager-Saudi Arabian National Guard employees in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
OPM-SANG sergeant major poised to make a difference

As the new senior enlisted adviser to the Office of the Program Manager-Saudi Arabian National Guard, Sgt. Maj. Michael James Mingle will focus his efforts on both U.S. and Saudi noncommissioned officers. In addition to advising the program manager on all NCO matters, Mingle will make sure U.S. troops successfully satisfy their crucial roles as adviser-diplomats in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A team of nine Soldiers from the U.S. Army Security Assistance Training Management Organization have been on the ground in Afghanistan since January conducting combat mission training on the MD 530F helicopter for the Afghan Air Force. The training has provided the Afghan government with combat-ready qualified pilots and on Aug. 1 the first Afghan MD 530F Cayuse Warrior squadron was able to conduct aerial combat operations.
