The U.S. Army Security Assistance Command delivered four Acrow Roadway Bridges to the country of Nepal through its Foreign Military Sales program. The bridges are in preparation to support future humanitarian assistance and disaster relief within their region.

Mark McDonald assumed command of USASAC during a ceremony on June. 17 on the parade field outside USASAC headquarters. Gen. Dennis L. USASAC ended fiscal 2011 with FMS sales totaling $13.5 billion; however, first quarter of fiscal 2012 ended with a total sales value of $13.8 billion.

Typically foreign military sales are defined as a U.S. government to foreign government sale of defense articles, services and training. But for 1206 sales cases, the purchase is funded through Department of Defense appropriated funds. According to the National Defense Authorization Act, Section 1206, its purpose is to equip, supply and train foreign military who support U.S. military in joint operations.

Members of USASAC, and their subordinate command, the U.S. Amry Security Assistance Training Management Organization were present at the Army Materiel Command's exhibit.

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- This product of a military family says he's happy with his newest affiliation. Maj. Gen. Del Turner has become the commander of the Army Security Assistance Command. On Sept. 30 he succeeded Brig. Gen. Chris Tucker, who retired after 32 years of service.
Three black hawks delivered to Mexico through FMS program

The U.S. Army Security Assistance Command delivered three UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to Mexico City, Mexico, this month through its Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The helicopters will be used by the Navy Secretariat (SEMAR), which is responsible for the safety and security of Mexico's waters and coastlines.

The U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) has a new commanding general. Maj. Gen. Frank D. "Del" Turner assumed command of USASAC during a ceremony Sept. 30, 2011 on the parade field outside USASAC headquarters. General Ann E. Dunwoody, commander of Army Materiel Command (AMC) presided over the ceremony, which signaled the departure of outgoing commander, Brig. Gen. Christopher Tucker.
