The pickup and return flights are training missions for the pilots and air crew of the PRANG that allow them to do something to honor the wounded Soldiers of Puerto Rico.

Tahbo had just completed his freshman year at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona, when he made his decision. The next day, the recruiter drove about 60 miles from the recruiting station to Tahbo's home on the Colorado Indian Tribes Reservation, about 40 miles south of Lake Havasu City.

In spite of the frigid temperature, she wears a broad smile on her face. It isn't long before the source of her grin comes rocketing toward her at a dizzying speed, carrying with it the ultimate prize - a squeaky tennis ball. "Good girl, Astra," says Collen, giving her 8-year-old Belgian Malinois a well-deserved scratch behind the ears. Collen and Astra don't have a typical dog/owner relationship. Though the typical hallmarks of loyalty, love and affection are all there, theirs was a relationship built through professional training, strengthened through two deployments and cemented when Collen gave Astra a "forever home" when she retired from service as a military working dog.

    From Christmas wrapping paper to cereal boxes to water bottles, recycling in Fort Campbell's housing area is as easy as throwing away trash. Campbell Crossing, Lend Lease's privatized Family on-post housing community, uses a "single stream" system -- meaning residents do not have to sort their recyclables, said Danny Roberts, Campbell Crossing utilities manager. Recyclables accepted are cardboard, paper, aluminum cans and plastics. "Being single stream, it's not as hard to recycle; you just throw it in," Roberts said. "We tried to make it as convenient as we could."

    Dark skies, drizzle and falling temperatures did not deter Soldiers, Family members and volunteers from gathering at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West as part of the Wreaths Across America ceremony Dec. 14, 2013. Cathy Alexander and her three children were part of that group. "We've been coming for three years," said Alexander. "My father, their grandfather is buried here." Each child grabbed as many wreaths as their small hands would allow and then made their way down the rows of gravestones, stopping at those without wreaths. After pausing a few seconds to read the headstone, they carefully laid down a wreath.

Derek LeCheminant. Savanna taught herself how to sew when her husband was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Honor Guard and worked a busy schedule. She started making little girls' tutus and other homemade crafts, and friends and family kept saying, "That's so Savanna!" when they saw her latest creations. A hobby became a business, a catchphrase the new venture's name.

    Mooberry , 93, passed away December 2, 2013 Mr. Mooberry, a native of Illinois, began his Civil Service career at Savanna Ordnance Depot on November 1, 1940 as a clerk-stenographer. Later, Savanna was assigned to select and train people in all phases of administrative activities to act as chief clerks for the new Ordnance depots just being established. Mooberry entered this training program in December 1941 and on May 12, 1942 was sent to Tooele.

    Even as the holidays approach, paratroopers of 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) train on Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy, Dec. 6. The Sky Soldiers engaged in military operations in urban terrain, or MOUT, training, and conducted rappel training on the Joint Multinational Training Command-constructed, 34-foot jump tower, the only Army jump tower in Europe. The facilities are a component of the Caserma Ederle Airborne Refresher Training Facility.
