    It's not a Christian injury. It's not a Muslim injury. It's not a Buddhist injury. It's a moral injury. That was one of the key points that Chaplain (Capt.) Jonathan Entrekin expressed to combat Veterans during the "Back Into the Light" seminar at the Chambers Bay Golf Course near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., on Sept. 26. The seminar dealt with difficulties Soldiers often experience when re-entering their communities after they've experienced a moral injury, which occurs when a person either does something, or is exposed to something they believe is morally wrong, or experiences betrayal by those they believed were always "right," said Entrekin.

    Thirty soldiers representing the three countries traveled to Grafenwoehr, where they joined over 100 Soldiers from the 54th Engineer Battalion for the demolitions training. Despite challenging weather conditions, including three straight days of constant rain, the exercise concluded with the Soldiers trained on explosives preparation, initiating systems, cratering charges, steel cutting, timber cutting, improvised breaching charges and bivouac operations.

    The 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Soldiers are in Afghanistan serving outside their typical cavalry role. The Texas-based squadron from Fort Hood, more commonly referred to as 4-9 Cav., is now operating out of Forward Operating Base Fenty in Nangarhar Province; there they conduct operations ranging from reconnaissance to force protection.
